Gillian Lansdowne is the Founder of Lansdowne Board Intelligence (LBI). She has over 30 years of executive search experience across a wide array of functional disciplines and industry sectors. She has lived on three continents and has extensive international experience conducting global search projects.
A creative and out-of-the-box thinker, Gillian brings a high-touch, high-value insights and a passion to deliver exceptional results. She has led hundreds of search mandates of senior executives, board directors, and comprehensive new board buildouts. Before founding LBI, Gillian was Managing Director of the Toronto office of Stanton Chase International, a business she founded in 1994 and sold in 2008 to a global search firm ,where she was a Partner and Leader of the Financial Services & Real Estate Practice; a member of the Professional Services Practice; and Founding Leader of the firm’s Diversity Practice.
Gillian is a public-speaker and has written articles about issues related board governance, leadership, and diversity. She was a founding sponsor of the Canadian Board Diversity Council, where she was the national co-sponsor and speaker at the Council’s “Board Chair & CEO Roundtables,” a speaker at the inaugural “Get on Board series,” and the author of the Council’s and Canada’s first “Board Best Practices Toolkit.”
Over the years, Gillian has volunteered at numerous organizations and was a Board Director for the PPDJDS where she was and Chair of the Governance & Board Development Committee for seven years. She is a member of the Worldwide Entrepreneurs Organization (WEO), the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), Corporate Governance Professionals of Canada (CPC), Women Executive Network (WXN), Women in Capital Markets (WCM), and Women in Mining (WIM).
